Lawyer Jessica Corry of Colorado is a married, anti-abortion Republican mom who wore a triple strand of pearls and an American flag lapel pin to a recent conference.

She is also a speaker and writer dedicated to end laws against marijuana, according to a Jessica Parker column in the Washington Post. Besides wearing pearls and an American flag pin, Corry sported a gold marijuana leaf pin at the conference, a San Francisco meeting of NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. High Times magazine has named her an upcoming “freedom fighter of the month.”

Corry is a public policy analyst with the conservative Independence Institute, according to Denver Westword. She does not smoke marijuana.

Among those supporting Corry’s cause are 20 others from Colorado, most of them lawyers, the Post column says says. Corry’s husband, also a lawyer, represents medical marijuana users.

The Post column was entitled “Reefer Sanity.” The Denver Westword story says legalizing marijuana has become “the toke of the town.”
