Cleveland lawyer Peter Pattakos recalls his reaction when a friend alerted him that he was fitted for a tux at an Akron wedding shop at about the same time that Ebola patient Amber Joy Vinson was in the store.

“I thought, ‘Oh, that’s interesting,’ ” Pattakos tells the Northeast Ohio Media Group.

Pattakos informed the local health department, which asked him to alert health officials if he develops any symptoms of the disease, the story says. His doctor told him not to worry.

“I’m much more likely to be mistakenly killed by a police officer in this country than to be killed by Ebola, even if you were in the same bridal shop,” Pattakos said. “I wish people would freak out this much about climate change.”

Pattakos is a former Jones Day lawyer who is of counsel with Cohen Rosenthal & Kramer, according to the law firm’s website.
