A Memphis, Tenn., trial lawyer has been accused of biting off the nose of a hairdresser in a restroom fight.

The lawyer, Mark Lambert, is facing a $7.5 million lawsuit filed by the man who says he lost his nose, hairdresser Greg Herbers, according to the Commercial Appeal. The Associated Press and WMCTV.com also had the story.

Herbers claims he entered the restroom of a restaurant and noticed two men were together in a stall. Lambert was at a urinal talking to the men. When Herbers asked the two men to leave, he alleges, Lambert approached him in a “menacing” fashion and grabbed him. The next thing he knew, Herbers said, blood was pouring from his nose and he felt excruciating pain. He said Lambert bit off and swallowed the nose.

Herbers said he lost a large portion of his left nostril and he’s permanently disfigured.

Lambert told WMC-TV that he acted in self-defense after Herbers attacked him for no reason. He told the television station that he did bite off part of Herbers’ nose, but he spit it out.

Lambert works for The Cochran Firm. His bio says he graduated in 2002 from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where he received the Best Written Memorandum Award from Westlaw in a nationwide contest. He joined the firm of the late Johnnie Cochran in 2006.

Herbers has a criminal record that includes possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence, according to the Commercial Appeal.
