A South Carolina lawyer and former lawmaker has sued HBO and Showtime for promoting his comedy, The Hills Have Thighs, on its schedule and then pulling a switcheroo.

The movie shown was a soft-core porn film by the same name, the Associated Press reports.

Lawyer James ”Bubba” Cromer says he saw the movie listing for his low-budget comedy about Appalachia and told more than 4,000 Facebook friends to watch, AP says. The listing had described his movie and listed its actors, Cromer says.

The voiceover before the movie promoted a “Bubba Cromer” film, making Cromer think that his dream of cable distribution had finally come true. But when Cromer tuned in, ”I saw a set of thighs and realized instantly that wasn’t my movie,” he told AP.

Cromer’s suit claims defamation, negligence and emotional distress, the story says.

The film shown instead of Cromer’s movie is by the director of such cult favorites as The Da Vinci Coed and The Witches of Breastwick.
