After 10 days without power in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, a lawyer with a Manhattan law practice is suing his power company on behalf of his Tarrytown neighborhood.

Richard Hershman is accusing Con Edison of negligence both before and after the storm, Newsday reports.

Hershman decided to file suit after an informal meeting with neighbors fed up with poor communication from the company.

Newsday reports that the suit is vague on damages because residents continue to rack up bills for generators, gasoline and other accommodations to stay warm.
