A personal injury lawyer who reportedly advised the owner of auto body shops in Philadelphia has been charged, along with his client, a manager, a city police officer and seven appraisers, in an alleged insurance fraud.

In addition to providing legal advice related to the claimed fraud, attorney Michael Wolf, 52, is accused by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office of filing several phony insurance claims, according to the Delaware County Daily Times and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Authorities contend that University Collision workers were “enhancing and creating damage to vehicles brought into them for repair” to increase the payout by insurance companies when claims were made.
