Citing a “breakdown in the attorney-client relationship” that has made it “unreasonably difficult” to represent a former Toyota Motor Sales USA in-house counsel in a whistle-blower suit against the embattled automotive manufacturer, lawyer Jeff Allen is seeking to withdraw from the case along with his partner, Joseph Wohrle.

The two Santa Monica, Calif., attorneys filed the motion last week, reports the National Law Journal.

Arbitration is scheduled to begin in August in the suit brought by Dimitrios Biller, who oversaw Toyota’s rollover litigation from 2003 to 2007. He contends that his Toyota superiors ordered him to suppress evidence in rollover cases.
