The fatal shooting of Nesconset, N.Y., lawyer James DiMartino was a murder for hire, according to a woman who pleaded guilty yesterday to second-degree murder in the case.

Monique Randall, 19, told a Suffolk County Court that she helped arrange the Oct. 20 killing at the behest of DiMartino’s business partner, Ronald Thornton of Nesconset, Newsday reports.

Randall, who reportedly met Thornton, 37, while she was working as an exotic dancer, stated that Thornton gave her a gun and enlisted her to kill DiMartino, a 44-year-old mortgage lawyer. Randall in turn enlisted the help of two other men, including her boyfriend, to kill DiMartino in a parking lot outside a Commack restaurant.

Police have arrested all the men and charged them with second-degree murder.
