Several lawyers from the dissolved law firm WolfBlock have moved to small and midsize law firms.

The latest lawyer to make such a move is former WolfBlock senior litigation partner Anthony Twardowski, who handles construction and commercial litigation and some surety bond work, the Legal Intelligencer reports. He is moving to Zarwin Baum DeVito Kaplan Schaer Toddy.

Consultant Joel Rose told the Legal Intelligencer that most midsize firms are eager to hire large-firm lawyers with big books of business, as long as their egos are not oversized. “It’s a very practical issue,” Rose said. “Most firms are not willing to rip apart their culture to accommodate a superstar with a lot of baggage and a reputation of being very difficult.”

The story says these WolfBlock lawyers are also moving to smaller firms:

• Five lawyers who handled family law work for WolfBlock will start a family law practice at Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby. The group is headed by partner Lynne Gold-Bikin.

• Lawrence Lesser, former co-chairman of WolfBlock’s financial services group, joined Friedman Schuman Applebaum Nemeroff & McCaffery along with lawyers David Stern and Elizabeth Grzywacz.

• Former WolfBlock litigation partner Andrew Chirls moved to litigation boutique Haines & Associates.

• Former WolfBlock partner Tami Bogutz Steinberg moved to Flaster Greenberg. Her practice areas include gaming, technology, and sports and entertainment law.

• Former WolfBlock partner William Frey moved to Gibbons P.C. where he will work on the firm’s construction law team.
