Lawyer's Tax Break Request Leads to Charges Alleging He Rented Out Dead Client’s Condo
A request for a property tax reduction has led to criminal charges against a 71-year-old Kentucky lawyer accused of renting out a condominium he didn’t own.
Ronald Snyder of Louisville is accused of collecting rent on a dead client’s condo for nearly 12 years, the Louisville Courier-Journal reports. He will be arraigned in a courthouse named for his brother, the late congressman Gene Snyder.
Authorities discovered Ronald Snyder didn’t own the property when he sought a reduction in property taxes due to his age. He has been charged with defrauding the estate’s heirs.
