The 72-year-old wife of a retired Tennessee lawyer killed Monday when a package from his mailbox blew up has also died of her injuries from the blast.

Marion Setzer died at the hospital Wednesday, WZVN reports.

Authorities said John Setzer, 74, had gotten the package from a mailbox about 200 yards outside the couple’s home in Lebanon and was carrying it to the house when it exploded, shattering windows not only at their house but the one across the street.

An investigation is continuing, and a note found in the debris that is believed to have been attached to the package could be an important clue.

Those who knew the couple reportedly could think of no reason why they would have been targeted in such an attack.
