Told that actress Lindsay Lohan had decided she didn’t want to perform community service at a women’s detention center because the work wasn’t “fulfilling,” an angry Los Angeles judge today revoked her probation.

Lohan, 25, was led from the courtroom in handcuffs but isn’t expected to be jailed for long before she posts bail, reports Reuters. A Nov. 2 hearing will be held to make a final determination about her probation.

Attorney Shawn Holley, who is representing Lohan, tried to persuade Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner that her client had otherwise complied with her probation in a drunken-driving and necklace-theft case, citing “glowing” reports from Lohan’s probation officer, therapy counselor and a shoplifting program.

Holley also pointed out that the actress has another six months to complete her 480 hours of community service, of which 360 was to be done at the detention center and another 120 at the morgue.

However, Sautner was apparently persuaded by a letter from the detention center that Lohan, who reportedly put in only a little over 20 hours there and was a no-show at the morgue, had, as the judge put it, “blown off” her court-ordered community service.

“Nobody has the power to change my sentence,” the judge stated, saying also that her decision earlier this year to reduce a necklace-theft charge against the actress to a misdemeanor had been “a gift” that Lohan failed to appreciate.

Sautner suggested that Lohan could perhaps mitigate her situation by working no fewer than two eight-hour shifts at the morgue weekly between now and Nov. 2, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Ministry of Gossip blog.

The detention center has reportedly dropped Lohan from its program because of her lack of participation.

A TMZ post provides additional details and footage of today’s hearing.
