Actress Lindsay Lohan was released from jail at 1:35 this morning after serving a fraction of her 90-day sentence for violating her probation in two drunken driving cases.

The Associated Press says Lohan served just 14 days in jail, while Reuters puts the count at 13 days. Next, she will begin a 90-day court-ordered stint in rehab.

Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore told the Los Angeles Times that Lohan “was noticeably moved by the amount of mail and books sent to her. She thanked everybody as she left.” The newspaper quotes law enforcement sources as saying that Lohan had a tough time adjusting to jail life, but she remained cooperative and became more subdued as time passed.

Lohan’s sentence was reduced for good behavior and early release programs to combat overcrowding, Reuters says. She did not leave through the front exit, confounding camera crews waiting for her release.
