Lindsay Lohan Pleads No Contest in Necklace-Theft Case, Gets No Additional Time
Actress Lindsay Lohan today pleaded no contest in Los Angeles Superior Court in a much-publicized necklace-theft case.
Although she got 120 days in jail for violation of her probation on an earlier driving-under-the-influence case, she was given no additional jail time for the theft, according to the L.A. Now blog of the Los Angeles Times.
In addition to three years of probation for the theft, she must perform nearly 500 hours of community service, some of it at the county morgue, as part of her earlier probation-violation sentence.
Judge Stephanie Sautner set the stage for a swift resolution of the theft case when she reduced the charge against Lohan from a felony to a misdemeanor at an earlier hearing:
