The lawyer who worked for I Can’t Believe It’s a Law Firm! in the Simpsons cartoon series tops a blog’s list of the top seven greatest cartoon lawyers of all time.

Lionel Hutz “was a personification of every lawyer stereotype,” according to the California Law Report blog. “But it was all hilarious funny so it was all OK.” The blog cites this classic Hutz line to show why he was No. 1: “Well, he’s had it in for me ever since I kinda ran over his dog … Well, replace the word ‘kinda’ with ‘repeatedly’ and the word ‘dog’ with ‘son.’ ”

The blog devised its top seven list in a nod to the ABA Journal feature, “The 25 Greatest Fictional Lawyers (Who Are Not Atticus Finch).”

Nos. 2 and 3 on the California Law Report’s list:

• Robin of Earth-Two, an alternative version of DC Comics characters. In some depictions, Batman’s Boy Wonder was a lawyer who worked for the firm of Cranston, Grayson and Wayne. “I bet you didn’t think the boy in tights was a lawyer, did you?” the blog asks.

• She-Hulk, a Marvel comics superhero who acted as an attorney for other superheroes. Presumably her work included “defending against all the lawsuits from angry car and property owners whose property was trashed during epic battles on the streets of Gotham,” the blog says.
