After an announcement early this year that Littler Mendelson is consolidating administrative functions in one central office, the 1,000-attorney labor and employment powerhouse has been hiring in Kansas City, Missouri. and making layoffs elsewhere.

Last month, chief operating officer Robert Domingues told the Kansas City Business Journal that the firm expected to make about 200 new hires in the vicinity before the end of the year. He expects the new administrative center, which will handle back-office functions, to open by July.

Meanwhile, Littler has filed a legally required WARN notice to alert staffers in San Francisco that it plans to make 113 layoffs in the Bay Area by July 1, the San Francisco Business Times reports.
