Another New York law firm is moving in to fill in at least part of the upstate foreclosure practice gap left by the downfall of Steven J. Baum’s legal shop

Long Island-based Frenkel Lambert Weiss Weisman & Gordon is looking for around 10,000 square feet of office space and expecting to fill about 100 to 125 positions for an expected March opening, reports the Buffalo News.

Although Frenkel Lambert may hire some of those laid off by the Baum firm, it won’t be taking over the Baum firm itself.

“By no reason are we acquiring his firm. I have no interest in bringing Steven Baum into my firm,” managing partner David Frenkel told the newspaper. “We have done a very good job of distinguishing ourselves in that area. We are a law firm, a litigation firm, and the last thing we want is ever to be tied to his operation.”
