A major New Jersey-based law firm is looking to a global women’s networking group with a memorable name to help the firm’s seasoned female attorneys expand their professional contacts and influence.

McCarter & English is now part of the 85 Broads community, reports the Hartford Business Journal.

In a law firm press release that is also posted on the 85 Broads website, it is described as a multigenerational global group of some 20,000 women who help each other with business leadership training and provide networking and social opportunities with like-minded female professionals.

“85 Broads will offer McCarter’s senior women attorneys’ invaluable opportunities to grow and sustain their legal practices by working with and learning from other like-minded women who have achieved distinction in their respective fields,” says partner Michael Kelly. He chairs the executive committee of the 400-attorney firm.

About 50 of the firm’s women partners and senior associates have joined 85 Broads, which is named for the original founders who worked at Goldman Sachs at 85 Broad Street.
