The New York Times wonders if lawyers at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom learned something about “highfalutin style” during the 15 years the firm shared offices with the editors of Conde Nast.

Male lawyers from the law firm are featured in a “statement suits” slide show in the New York Times Fashion & Style section.

Among those featured is 60-year-old David Zornow, head of global litigation, who confesses he departed from his usually conservative attire and “went wild” in a glen plaid gray suit with a bit of lavender in the design.

Bruce Goldner, leader of the New York office, sports a shirt and slacks from Size sur Vingt. “I tend to go with brands where there is a rebuttable presumption with my wife that I bought the right thing,” he says.

Second-year associate Michael Straw, on the other hand, says he tends to “err on the side of casual.” His oxford shirt underneath his sweater is reminiscent of “that Jerry Seinfeld bit: This only comes out of the closet once a month, just to peek outside of a sweater.”
