A man who has been charged with murder in one woman’s death last week and reportedly confessed to six more slayings after he was arrested over the weekend isn’t talking now.

Darren Deon Vann, 43, was held in contempt by an Indiana judge on Wednesday after he refused to speak during an initial court hearing, NBC Chicago reports.

“Tell your client that he stays in jail the rest of his life until this hearing takes place,” Magistrate Judge Kathleen Sullivan urged Vann’s public defender during a hearing at the Lake County Jail in Crown Point.

It appears that the lawyer did so, to no avail, and the hearing was rescheduled.

Multiple jurisdictions are now investigating Vann.
