A Canadian man who posted a YouTube video of a 24-minute drive around a 26-mile loop of New York City’s Manhattan borough last year has been convicted of reckless endangerment.

However, it remains to be seen whether Adam Tang, 32, will serve any time in the case, both because he hasn’t been sentenced yet and because he was a no-show at his Manhattan Supreme Court trial, according to the Associated Press, and the New York Daily News.

After authorities determined Tang was voluntarily absent, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest, and the trial continued without him.

Tang, who works as a day trader, had refused a plea bargain that would have required him to accept a 60-day jail sentence. His lawyer has said Tang should not have to serve any time as a first offender, and that a jury would likely not convict him.

The video shows Tang stopping at several red lights. However, he admittedly ran one, and he had to have been speeding at 70 to 100 mph to complete the circuit in 24 minutes, authorities have said.

Tang’s lawyer didn’t respond to a request for comment, the AP article reports.
