Although she hasn’t filed for divorce, Maria Shriver reportedly has retained celebrity attorney Laura Wasser. And she apparently has plenty of money to cover even the heftiest legal bill.

Observers speculate that a potential legal split from actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger could involve up to $400 million in assets, the New York Post reported.

If so, and the couple does divorce, Shriver could get up to $200 million, according to the newspaper, which would be double what Tiger Woods’ ex-wife was granted in their big-bucks divorce.

Shriver, who is herself a well-known personality and member of the Kennedy family, and Schwarzenegger are believed to have a prenuptial agreement limiting her portion of the pair’s assets. However, their long-term 25-year marriage and Schwarzenegger’s admitted fathering of a child with a former live-in member of their household could increase Shriver’s share in a divorce.

An earlier New York Post article and a profile in CNN Entertainment offer more details about Wasser and her career.

Wasser is a graduate of Loyola Law School who has previously represented Angelina Jolie and Britney Spears among other high-profile matrimonial clients.
