Marketing and Tech Directors Get Big Pay Hikes at Texas Law Firms
Marketing directors and technology managers at Texas law firms are getting some hefty salary hikes, especially at large firms, according to a salary and billing survey by Texas Lawyer.
Both positions got pay raises averaging 7.8 percent this year, the survey found. Average pay in the state was $73,984 for marketing directors and $102,243 for information services managers, Texas Lawyer reports. At large Texas law firms, the average was $111,258 for marketing directors, an increase of 17.6 percent, and $162,721 for IS managers, an increase of 10 percent, according to a chart published by Texas Lawyer (sub. req.).
The percentage increase for associates was smaller. The average increase for first-year associates was 5.3 percent, and the average salary was $103,436, according to another chart (sub. req.). For seventh-year associates, the average pay hike was 3.7 percent and the average pay was $140,972. At large firms, average pay was $150,455 for first-year associates and $197,480 for seventh-year associates.
