Police in a small German town near the Czech border had to call a locksmith to win a prisoner's release from jail, after the lock broke on his cell.
The 18-year-old prisoner had been jailed after allegedly smashing a car window during May Day festivities in Zwiesel, reports Reuters.
"We told him we'd get him out of there," says a police spokesman. "We said the locksmith was coming, and that if that didn't work, we'd prise the iron bars apart for him."
