Northeast regional powerhouse McCarter & English has raided a Hartford, Conn.-based rival, Robinson & Cole, of seven attorneys—including three new partners who previously chaired their practice groups at their now-former firm.

They are intellectual property and information technology practitioner Richard Green, an ex-leader of the outsourcing, supply chain and technology transactions practice at Robinson & Cole; Mitchell Fishberg, who formerly headed its employment litigation and trade secrets group; and Richard Vitarelli, a labor and employment chair there, according to the Hartford Business Journal.

With some 400 lawyers in offices in Boston, Hartford, Stamford, New York City, Newark, Philadelphia and Wilmington, McCarter & English is not quite double the size of Robinson & Cole, which has about 225 lawyers in offices in the Northeast and Florida.

A McCarter & English press release provides additional details.
