A Maryland judge is expected to quickly satisfy the terms of his probation sentence for deflating the tire of a courthouse cleaning worker.

Judge Robert Nalley of Charles County pleaded guilty on Wednesday to tampering with a motor vehicle, according to the Washington Post and MyFoxDC.com. Nalley admitted he deflated the tire of Jean Washington, who had parked in a restricted area near the courthouse because she didn’t want to walk through the parking lot at the end of her shift in the evening.

Nalley told the court he was “profoundly sorry” for his conduct.

Nalley received a sentence of probation before judgment, which will erase the conviction from his record if he performs the probation terms: payment of a $500 fine and completion of a letter of apology to Washington.

Nalley’s lawyer, William Brennan, told the Post that his client could satisfy the probation terms as early as today. Defense lawyers told the Post that the sentence Nalley received isn’t unusual for first-time offenders.
