Merged Law Firm Faegre Baker Daniels Is Unveiled

The law firms of Baker & Daniels and Faegre & Benson officially announced their merger today in an online press conference.

The new firm will be called Faegre Baker Daniels, according to Andrew Humphrey, chair and managing partner of Faegre & Benson. The merger, which is effective on Jan. 1, will create a combined firm of 770 lawyers and 45 consulting professionals.

The firm will have offices as far west as Colorado and as far east as Washington, D.C. It will also have international offices in Beijing, Shanghai and London.

Humphrey will be managing partner of Faegre Baker Daniels. Tom Froehle, who is chair and chief executive partner of Baker & Daniels, will be chief operating partner of the new firm.

The Minneapolis-based Faegre has 450 lawyers in six offices. Baker & Daniels, based in Indianapolis, has 320 lawyers and 45 consultants in seven offices. Froehle told reporters the combination will create a truly national firm with international capability.
