Midlevel associates are most satisfied with their compensation and benefits at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and least satisfied at Thompson Hine, according to a recent survey.

The Am Law Daily highlighted the finding from its survey of 6,100 associates at America’s 200 largest law firms. Wachtell recently nabbed the top spot in Vault’s prestige rankings by law firm associates. Thompson Hine, on the other hand, cut associate pay by $17,500 in March, but said lawyers may be able to make up part of the loss in bonuses tied to productivity.

The survey’s top five firms for satisfaction with benefits and compensation are:

• Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz

• Ropes & Gray

• Boies, Schiller & Flexner

• Cahill Gordon & Reindel

• Cleary Gottlieb

Other survey findings published at the end of July: Job worries have sent morale among associates to its lowest level in the five years that the American Lawyer asked the survey question. And midlevel associates ranked McKee Nelson the best for handling layoffs.
