Military judge postpones 9/11 cases due to 'nearly catastrophic server crash' in Pentagon system
A military judge overseeing the cases of detainees accused of plotting the 9/11, terrorist attacks has postponed hearings scheduled for next week after what a Pentagon official described as “a nearly catastrophic server crash.”
Defense lawyers had previously complained about document losses and confidential email provided to prosecutors, which resulted in an order banning them from continuing to use the Department of Defense computer system for confidential work. At least one lawyer had said he planned to submit a handwritten petition to Army Col. James Pohl seeking a delay, and the judge has now ruled in a two-page order posted Wednesday that hearings will resume in mid-June, according to Bloomberg.
