A lot has happened since Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and Samuel A. Alito Jr. joined the U.S. Supreme Court.

The court upheld a ban on partial-birth abortions. It ruled against integration plans at two school districts. And the percentage of Americans who apparently noticed the conservative shift increased substantially, reports the Washington Post.

A Washington Post-ABC news poll found that 31 percent of Americans think the court is too conservative, up from 19 percent in 2005.

At the same time, the number of Americans who think the court is “generally balanced in its decisions” shrunk from 55 percent in 2005, to 47 percent today.

The public is split on the abortion and school integration rulings, however, ABC News reports. Fifty-six percent disapprove of the ruling striking down race-based school assignments, while 55 percent approve of the ruling upholding the abortion restriction.
