Morgan Lewis partner James Hamilton is set to begin vetting potential running mates for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
The Washingtonian calls Hamilton the “go-to guy for Democratic nominees in search of a vice-presidential pick.”
He oversaw searches in which Al Gore picked Joe Lieberman and John Kerry picked John Edwards. He also participated in the search when Barack Obama selected Joe Biden.
A report on the search for Al Gore’s running mate said teams reporting to Hamilton looked at every vote ever cast and every press release issued by potential running mates, as well as financial and health records, speech and debate transcripts and videos, and school transcripts.
