Nebraska Lawyer Who Practiced for 13 Years on a Suspended License Is Disbarred
Suspended in 1996, two years after he became a lawyer, for failing to pay dues to the Nebraska state bar association, David M. Walocha began practicing law again in 1998 even though the suspension remained in force.
He entered appearances in at least 65 cases in Douglas County between then and 2011, reports the World-Herald. At least one included felony charges.
Today the state supreme court disbarred him, rejecting Walocha’s argument for a reduced sanction. “Every pleading, every court appearance, every meeting with a client constituted a separate act of dishonesty,” the court wrote in its opinion. “His misconduct is egregious and unacceptable.”
