A 22-year-old neighbor has been arrested in the slaying of a 67-year-old attorney known for his white supremacist views.

Vincent McGee was charged yesterday with murder, and three other individuals were charged today with being accesssories after the fact in the slaying of Richard Barrett, reports the Associated Press.

Authorities say McGee, who has done yard work for Barrett, beat and stabbed him to death on Wednesday. Police think Barrett’s house was set on fire Thursday to cover up the crime.

Although McGee is African-American, race has not been cited as a motive in the crime, reports the Clarion-Ledger.

McGee was released from prison earlier this year after serving five years for grand larceny and simple assault on a police officer.

He apparently does not have a lawyer, and his mother declined to comment, the AP reports.
