The newest greeter at a Jacksonville, Florida, law firm routinely has a smile on her face and even bounces in her chair as she welcomes visitors. Plus, although only 13 months old, she seldom cries.

Having Hannah Mallory Cooper at the front of Cooper Ridge & Safi, along with her mother, legal assistant Amanda Cooper, helps relax those who are stressed about mediation or other matters, those in charge tell the Daily Record.

“They see a little one, and she’s pleasant most of the time,” says partner Bill Cooper, who is the baby’s grandfather. “They all enjoy it.”

He and partner George Ridge focus largely on alternative dispute resolution in business matters, through the law firm and its affiliated First Coast Mediation and Arbitration LLC.

The front of the office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., four days a week, has been equipped with a portable crib, a bouncy chair, toys and even a children’s library for the youngest member of the law firm family, the newspaper reports. Plus, Amanda Cooper also has an office at home she can use, as needed.

She tells the Daily Record she feels fortunate to be able to take her daughter to work with her, and notes that she and Bill Cooper get to see the tot’s developmental milestones this way.

“We’re going to start a new trend,” the grandfather predicts.
