A lawyer who reportedly is admitted to practice in Michigan and New York has been indicted and arrested in New Jersey, where he faces two counts of unauthorized practice of law.

Demetrio S. Timban, 45, is accused of twice representing a client in Evesham Municipal Court, reports the Burlington County Times.

The newspaper says Timban was carrying a business card that showed he practiced with the Timban Law Group in Cherry Hill, N.J.

A website for a law firm of that name says it focuses its practice on immigration law. Clicking on the “attorney profiles” tab produces the following statement: “We are currently still putting together the information for the staff at Timban Law Group LLC. Please check back soon!”

An earlier article in the South Jersey Sun reports that prosecutors said Timban’s business card stated that he is “Specializing in Bankruptcy & Creditor’s Rights; Immigration & Nationality Law; Family Law; Alternative Dispute Resolution and Real Estate Law.”

The Times could not reach Timban for comment. It appears that he was released on $5,000 bail.
