A prominent Los Angeles lawyer convicted of conspiring with a private investigator to conduct illegal wiretaps in a celebrity divorce case has been denied a new trial.

Terry Christensen, the former managing partner of the law firm now known as Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs & Shapiro, had sought a new trial based on alleged discovery rule violations by prosecutors and what his counsel contends was the wrongful removal of a juror during deliberations, reports the National Law Journal in an article reprinted by New York Lawyer (reg. req.).

On Monday,a federal judge in Los Angeles denied Christensen’s motions for a new trial, according to the Hollywood Reporter. He is scheduled to be sentenced in the case on Nov. 17.
