Yale and Harvard are missing from the top five spots in a ranking of law schools devised by the TaxProf Blog using data from the Princeton Review.

The University of Chicago comes out on top in the blog, edited by University of Cincinnati law professor Paul Caron. Next is Michigan, followed by Northwestern, Boston University, and, tying for fifth place, Pennsylvania and Vanderbilt.

Yale, which gets the top spot in rankings by U.S. News and World Report, is in 35th place on the blog’s list. Harvard comes in second in the U.S. News rankings, but the blog puts it in 14th place.

The Princeton Review ranked law schools in 11 different categories, ranging from quality of life to toughest to get into. The TaxProf blog chose three of the 11 categories and combined two others to develop its rankings.

The blog’s categories are academic excellence, admissions selectivity, career preparation and professors who are accessible and interesting.
