Four lawyers are among seven professionals who recently pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of failing to file New York state tax returns.

The four attorneys, who earned between just under $400,000 and more than $2.7 million during the period, did not file state tax returns for four consecutive years, according to New York Lawyer.

The guilty pleas were announced over the weekend by the state attorney general’s office. The prosecutions resulted from a continuing practice of matching lists of professionals licensed to practice in the state with lists of persons who have filed tax returns.

A Kelley Drye & Warren partner, Justine Clark, was the top earner among the four, bringing in $2.7 million over four years. She declined comment yesterday, New York Lawyer reports.
