NY Lawyer: Lap Dances, No Partnership
Some partners at New York’s Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz had more on their minds than law practice, a former colleague claims in a recent sex discrimination suit.
And that led to an unfair work set-up, where secretarial lap dances had more of an impact in the Madison Avenue firm’s frat-house atmosphere than her own excellent real estate work, says the former attorney in a lawsuit filed last week. Nancy Pitkofsky, who is no longer at the firm, is now seeking $24 million in damages, contending she was denied a partnership because she is a woman, reports the New York Post.
Says Charles Baller, the firm’s managing partner: “We expect we will be vindicated.”
