The Kenyan aunt of President Barack Obama is expected to present new evidence in federal court today seeking to reverse a nearly five-year-old deportation order.

Lawyers for Zeituni Onyango haven’t discussed their strategy, which could focus on the woman’s numerous health problems, political unrest in Kenya, or something else, the Boston Globe reports.

And the public won’t be privy to their arguments either. The Globe reports that U.S. Immigration Judge Leonard Shapiro is scheduled to preside over the case behind closed doors today in a Boston.

The Associated Press reports that Onyango is relying on a little-used provision in U.S. immigration rules that allows denied asylum claims to be reheard if applicants can show that something has changed to make them eligible.

Onyango, a half-sister of Obama’s late father, applied for asylum in the past but lost. She has been living in the U.S. illegally ever since. Obama has vowed to steer clear of his aunt’s immigration fight.
