Clifford Chance is one of the world's biggest law firms, with more than 2,800 lawyers on its attorney roster and an average profit per equity partner of nearly $2 million last year.
But to truly reach its top potential in the long run, the firm says in a recent report, Clifford Chance needs to be more highly regarded by fellow lawyers, government officials, the media and the general public, according to the London Times.
"The admission comes in the firm’s first corporate social responsibility (CSR) report, released next week, which measures the diversity of its workforce, its environmental impact and pro bono activities," the Times article states.
To improve its image, Clifford Chance plans to amp up conservation and pro bono activities, as well as efforts to diversify its workforce and increase its participation in matters that will help it be perceived as socially responsible, according to the Times.
Presently, only 15 percent of Clifford Chance partners are women, and, at its London headquarters, only 10 percent are ethic minorities.
