Authorities in New York were already suspicious about the injuries claimed by nine people in a three-car accident in the Bronx, because the damage to the vehicles was so minor.

But then an evidentiary windfall somehow came to their attention—a surveillance tape from the storefront where the accident had taken place, right underneath the camera. It allegedly shows the three vehicles striking each other at extremely slow speeds, reports the New York Post.

Then, when the initial damage apparently wasn’t sufficient, at least one driver got back into his car and reversed into the other vehicle a second time.

The article doesn’t include any comment from the defendants. They are charged with falsifying business records, grand larceny and insurance fraud.
