Paralegal Loses Sex Claims, But Can Sue Texas PI Lawyer Over Firing & OT
A Texas judge has dismissed a paralegal’s civil litigation claims of sexual misconduct by a well-known plaintiff personal injury attorney, but allowed her to continue with other allegations.
Harris County District Judge Tracy Christopher yesterday granted a motion for summary judgment for lack of evidence by attorney Richard Laminack on the sex claims. However, the judge allowed Laminack’s former paralegal, Angela Robinson, to proceed with claims for wrongful termination and unpaid overtime, reports the Houston Chronicle.
Laminack says the other claims are also without merit. He is well-known for his work as a top lieutenant to plaintiffs lawyer John O’Quinn during high-profile breast implant litigation in the 1990s.
