Disillusioned and devastated about her Facebook friendship with a younger man, an unemployed Michigan paralegal is now seeking damages.

Cheryl Gray, 50, says in a Michigan lawsuit that Wylie Iwan, 35, led her on, accepted gifts from her and then dumped her a week before she was to visit him at his home in Washington state, the Tri-City Herald reports. He also defamed her in online comments, she contends.

However, Iwan says he didn’t do anything wrong, and Gray read too much into a simple online friendship. He admits calling her a “psycho bitch,” the Herald reports, but says he did so in response to a hate group she created about him.

“I want this lady to move on and leave me alone,” he tells the newspaper, noting that he had to retain a lawyer in Michigan to defend him in what he describes as “a completely frivolous lawsuit.”

Gray is seeking $8,368.88 for alleged defamation, misrepresentation, promissory estoppel and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
