Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane survived a state Senate vote on her ouster on Wednesday, even as the House approved an impeachment investigation.

The Senate ouster bid, which required a two-thirds majority, failed by four votes, report the New York Times and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The Legal Intelligencer (sub. req.) said the ouster failed by three votes.

The vote followed the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s refusal last week to reinstate Kane’s law license. She is facing criminal charges that allege she leaked grand jury information to embarrass a rival and lied about it. Kane has claimed she is a victim of the “old boys network.”
