The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has issued a rhyming opinion reversing the insurance fraud conviction of a man who opened a bank account with a forged check from State Farm.

Justice J. Michael Eakin, who wrote the entire opinion (PDF) in poetic form, has written in rhyme before, report the Wall Street Journal Law Blog and How Appealing. Eakin explains that the defendant quibbles with just one of the charges against him:

Convicted of the forgery, insurance fraud, and theft,
he admits the first and last, but denies the charge that’s left. …
Just because the bogus check shows an insurance company’s name
doesn’t make the crime insurance fraud—it’s simply not the same.
