Philly IP Law Firm Offers Reward for Information on Paralegal’s Death
Corrected: An intellectual property law firm in Philadelphia is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the bicyclist who struck and killed a paralegal.
Andre Steed, 39, died Saturday, more than a week after he was found on a street bleeding from severe head injuries, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Witnesses said Andre was hit by a bicyclist who had swerved out of the path of a car. The bicyclist then fled the scene.
Steed’s employer, the law firm of Caesar, Rivise, Bernstein, Cohen & Pokotilow, is offering the reward, according to the Inquirer and the Philadelphia Business Journal. Caesar Rivise partner Barry Stein told the Business Journal that law firm employees found the witnesses after passing out fliers in the area of the accident.
Stein told the Business Journal that Steed was “a fine young man” who decorated his office with pictures of heroes such as the late Justice Thurgood Marshall. “He was as decent, sweet and caring of an individual as you will ever meet,” Stein said. “And he just had a spark about him. Everyone loved him.”
