Police announced Wednesday that they have arrested a suspect in the slaying of a DLA Piper lawyer who was stabbed to death at a Washington, D.C., hotel earlier this year.

Jamyra Gallmon, 21, was charged with first-degree felony murder in the slaying of David Messerschmitt, 30, reports the Washington Post (reg. req.).

Messerschmitt, who specialized in intellectual property law, was found dead at the hotel in February.

Relying on unidentified sources, the Post says police believe robbery may have been the motive.
