Police seek missing city attorney who bought a camper and told his secretary he was going fishing
Kentucky State Police are searching for a lawyer who told his secretary he was going fishing and never returned.
Clyde Johnson, 47, was president of the Floyd County Bar Association and city attorney for the town of Martin, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports. He had told his secretary he was going on a camping trip with his dog and he would return on June 24. He was still missing nearly two weeks after his disappearance, the newspaper says in its July 6 story.
Johnson’s friend, Ned Pillersdorf, told the newspaper he found Johnson’s explanation odd because he doesn’t fish. Johnson’s home was in foreclosure and his mother had recently died, Pillersdorf said. Johnson bought a camper with money from his mother’s estate, but he didn’t tell his wife about the purchase, Pillersdorf said.
“This is completely out of character for him,” Pillersdorf told the Herald-Leader. “He’s a fixture in the community.”
