A disbarred justice of the peace accused of shooting to death two Texas prosecutors in 2013 also wanted to assassinate two former judges, prosecutors say.

Eric Williams planned to kill District Judge Glen Ashworth as far back as 2005, according to special prosecutors in charge of Williams’ capital murder case. They also say he wanted to kill Kaufman County District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley, who previously was a county court at law judge, WFAA reports.

It isn’t clear why Williams would have targeted the two, the article says. He is scheduled to go to trial in December in a capital murder case over two Kaufman County prosecutor slayings.
